Senior Network Engineer — Service Provider WAN (SP WAN)
Design, implement, automate, and support complex service provider WAN environments across MPLS, SD-WAN, BGP, EVPN, ISIS, and IPv6 — with a strong emphasis on modern automation using Ansible, AVD, CVP, and CI/CD.
About the Role
We are looking to hire a Senior Network Engineer who will join our Professional Services Organization to design, implement, automate, and support complex customer network environments. In this role you will serve as a technology expert across routing, switching, MPLS, SD-WAN, and data-center fabrics, with a strong emphasis on modern automation (Ansible, AVD, CVP, CI/CD) and protocols including BGP, EVPN, ISIS, and IPv6. You will work closely with customers, partners, and internal teams. Previous Service Provider experience is a strong plus.
Essential Functions
- Design, implement, and support large-scale network deployments with a focus on MPLS Design/Implementation and ongoing MPLS Maintenance
- Architect and deploy EVPN-based solutions (including VxLAN underlays where applicable) and provide design recommendations for customer environments
- Lead advanced BGP design and operations, including multi-protocol BGP and complex policy configurations
- Implement and optimize ISIS routing in core and data-center environments
- Design and deploy IPv6 addressing and dual-stack solutions across customer networks
- Plan, implement, and support SD-WAN solutions, including integration with existing MPLS and underlay networks
- Build and maintain network automation using Ansible, Arista AVD, and CloudVision Portal (CVP)
- Integrate network automation into CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable, repeatable configuration and change management
- Assist with configuration build-outs, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and in-depth testing to validate design scenarios
- Support implementation and change-control activities; provide bug scrubs and code recommendations
- Serve as the technical interface to TAC, internal development teams, and customers on architectural and operational issues
- Translate complex business requirements into robust network solutions spanning MPLS, SD-WAN, EVPN, and automated underlay/overlay designs
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders; understand client business objectives and technical needs
- Some travel may be required
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Service Provider Networking experience is required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent years of experience
- Network industry certifications preferred (e.g., ACE L3/L5, CCIE DC/SP, or equivalent)
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with network design, deployment, and operations
- Deep expertise in BGP (including advanced design and multi-protocol BGP) — required
- Strong experience with EVPN (including related overlay technologies) — required
- Proven experience with ISIS routing protocol design and operations
- Hands-on experience with MPLS Design/Implementation and MPLS Maintenance in production environments
- Experience designing and supporting SD-WAN solutions
- Solid working knowledge of IPv6 design, deployment, and dual-stack operations
- Automation skills with Ansible and Python; experience with Arista AVD and CloudVision Portal (CVP)

Essential Functions
- Manage professional services resource utilization and billability, including tracking availability and supporting the placement of resources onto customer projects
- Coordinate capacity planning and resource allocation across professional services teams and projects
- Manage end-to-end resource and vendor lifecycle activities that support project staffing (tracking, onboarding onto projects, and offboarding as needed)
- Execute tactical procurement tasks: draft Statements of Work (SoWs) from templates, submit purchase order requests, and track invoice accuracy and submissions
- Apply tactical problem-solving by executing defined "if/then" scenarios (e.g., if forecast exceeds budget or capacity is constrained, trigger the appropriate approval or reallocation workflow)
